About this role
We are seeking an exxperienced I&E Technician that will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems used in commercial, industrial facilities and process equipment. This position supports safe, reliable plant operations by ensuring electrical equipment, instrumentation, control systems, and related components operate properly and meet company and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, industrial electrical experience, and hands-on knowledge of instrumentation and process control systems.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control panels, motors, starters, VFDs, PLCs, and related equipment.
- Calibrate and maintain process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, level, and flow instruments.
- Troubleshoot and repair 4–20 mA, digital, pneumatic, and other instrumentation/control signals.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, P&IDs, and instrument documentation.
- Perform instrument loop checks, point-to-point checks, and functional testing.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Diagnose problems with control systems, transmitters, switches, valves, and other field devices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and industrial control system components as required.
- Perform electrical testing using appropriate meters and test equipment.
- Replace, repair, and terminate electrical wiring, conduit, cable, and instrumentation connections.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration documentation, and work orders.
- Follow company procedures, electrical safety requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable OSHA and NFPA standards.
- Participate in equipment inspections and identify potential reliability or safety issues.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors to complete work safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training, electrical/instrumentation certification, or associate degree preferred.
- Previous industrial electrical and/or instrumentation experience.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial controls.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Ability to use electrical and instrumentation test equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, electrical safety, and lockout/tagout practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, oil & gas, or other industrial environments.
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
- Experience calibrating pressure, temperature, flow, and level instrumentation.
- Industrial electrical or instrumentation certification.
