About this role

We are looking for an experienced **Chief Financial Officer (CFO)** to lead the finance function and play a key role in shaping the next stage of growth of a renewable energy company.

As a member of the leadership team, the CFO will work closely with the CEO, management team and Board to drive **financial strategy, project financing, profitability and investment decisions**, while leading and developing the finance team and building the processes and financial infrastructure required to scale the business.

The role combines **strategic leadership with a strong hands-on approach** in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment.

Tasks

* Define and lead the **financial strategy**, aligning financial planning, capital allocation and risk management with the company’s growth and investment objectives.
* Take full responsibility for **finance, controlling, treasury, tax and management reporting**.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning, including analysis of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, costs, overheads and liquidity.
* Oversee monthly closing and controlling processes, including the reconciliation of commercial and statutory financial results across entities.
* Evaluate new renewable energy projects and investment opportunities in collaboration with commercial, sales and analyst teams, developing financial models, business cases and scenario analyses.
* Assess project economics, including **CAPEX, OPEX and margins**, and provide actionable financial recommendations to management.
* Lead **project finance and debt financing initiatives**, including financing documentation, negotiations and coordination with banks, lenders and internal stakeholders.
* Advise the CEO and management team on financing strategy, investment decisions, financial risk, M&A, joint ventures, partnerships and strategic investments.
* Manage pricing, profitability, intercompany service agreements and transfer-pricing arrangements, in coordination with tax and legal advisers.
* Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, finance systems and processes while supporting the development of the finance function as the company grows.
* Act as a strategic business partner to the CEO and management team across commercial, operational, financing and investment decisions.

Requirements

* 7+ years of relevant finance experience, including senior responsibility as Finance Director, Head of Finance or similar.
* Experience in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, EPC, utilities, cleantech or another project-driven industry.
* Strong experience in project finance, debt financing, capital raising and financial modelling.
* Excellent knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, controlling, reporting and project profitability.
* Experience working with banks, investors, Boards and auditors.
* Native German and fluent English.
