Forward Deployed Engineer - Agentic AI

Role Summary AbsoluteLabs is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with enterprise clients in financial services, embedding AI coding agents such as Cognition Devin and Claude Code into their engineering workflows. You will own delivery from discovery through production, acting as both hands-on engineer and trusted technical advisor in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on-site or closely with client engineering teams at banks, insurers, capital markets firms and FinTech's to identify high-value use cases for agentic AI in the SDLC (code migration, test generation, refactoring, backlog burn-down, legacy modernization).
- Configure, deploy and operate Devin and/or Claude Code in client environments, including repo access, CI/CD integration, MCP servers, subagents, permissions and guardrails.
- Build custom agent workflows, prompts, skills and integrations on top of client code bases and toolchains.
- Write production-quality code along side the agents; review, validate and harden agent output.
- Ensure agent deployments meet client security, audit, data-governance and change-management requirements.
- Define success metrics, run pilots, and scale successful pilots into repeatable delivery playbooks.
- Train client developers on effective agent usage and drive adoption.

Required Skills & Experience
- Financial services experience is essential: prior delivery for banking, capital markets, insurance or fintech clients, with an understanding of the regulatory, security and data-governance constraints in that environment.
- Strong software engineering background in at least one of Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java or Go.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with Cognition Devin or Claude Code on real projects, not just experimentation.
- Working knowledge of LLM application patterns: prompt engineering, tool use, MCP, agent orchestration, evals.
- Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Client-facing experience in consulting, solutions engineering or a prior FDE role.
- Clear communication with both engineers and senior stakeholders.

Desirable (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Claude Agent SDK, Cursor, Open AI Codex, Lang Graph or similar.
- Legacy modernization or large-scale code migration experience, particularly core banking, payments or mainframe estates.
- Background in a consulting or systems integrator environment.
- Exposure to financial-sector compliance frameworks (for example SOX, PCI DSS, SEC/FINRA requirements) as they apply to AI tooling and code changes.
