About this role
Under general supervision, safely handle, store, preserve and perform any related activities required to maintain finished goods, raw material or work in process inventories. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must be able to adapt to "other duties ". Must be a trained, licensed lift truck driver.
- Completes required safety/orientation training, i. e. - training, hearing conservation, lock out/tag out, hazard communication, JSA's, etc.
- Must possess peripheral vision and depth perception to be trained to operate forklift; must be able to operate forklift up to 90% of the shift.
- All Material Handlers must be forklift licensed.
- Daily use of prescribed medication must be cleared through the medical department when operating a forklift.
- Basic interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with various department personnel.
- Physical stamina necessary to stand and walk up to 90 percent of work time depending upon work area
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 35 pounds for up to 50 percent of work time depending upon area.
- Must be able to operate a standard forklift and narrow aisle forklift.
- Must possess peripheral vision and depth perception in order to be trained to operate a forklift to safely and correctly load and transport materials.
- Must possess the analytical ability to distinguish a wide variety of materials.
- Must be able to read, write, and have a basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Must possess analytical ability to use computers and all systems needed to perform all functions of the job.
- Must be able to manually transfer propane tank at waist level as need to replace empty forklift tank
- Quality Checks - Must verify part numbers, skid quantity and location.
- Record and ensure location accuracy.
