About this role

Job Summary:

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Engine Workshop Technician to join our Distribution business in (Orlando, FL).

Will make an impact in the following ways:

- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

- Maintain own tools

At times business demands require mandatory overtime including starting early and staying late followed by weekends, holidays and major holidays as needed. It's a big ask and when we make those big asks, we pay just as big - double time on Sunday and triple time on holidays-

Training:

- we will train you hands on.
- paid virtual training
- paid class room training, including airfare, car rental, lodging and meals
- we train on everything here including diesel, natural gas and gasoline Cummins engines. EV's. Jost fifth wheels, Eaton Endurant transmissions and Eaton clutches, HAVC, Steering and suspension, Meritor Brakes and Driveline. As well as our safety training.

- follow the direction of your go to level 3 tech(s) and shop supervisor
- own up to mistakes and learn from them
- do not work harder trying not to perform a task then it would have been to just perform the task
- learn our safety protocols and be operationally disciplined enough to follow them
- respect your coworkers tools and tool box as they would yours
- be a lifelong learner we see something new everyday here
- in progress of buying your own tools
- perform diagnosis and repairs
- shop cleanup and shop maintenance

We do it all

- bumper to bumper repairs on class 6-8 trucks and tractors
- engine repair on fire trucks, transit bus, RV's, construction equipment ( rollers, dozers, pavers, milling machines, pavers, woodchippers )

- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
