About this role
Aquatic Fitness Instructor
Mountain Park HOA | Lake Oswego, Oregon
Flexible Part-Time Schedule | W-2 Employee | Up to $37.50 Paid per Class
Make an Impact Beyond the Workout
Mountain Park HOA is looking for an Aquatic Fitness Instructor who enjoys helping people stay active, strong, mobile, and confident through water-based exercise.
Mountain Park is not a commercial gym or high-volume fitness studio. We are a residential community in Lake Oswego with our own recreation, fitness, and aquatic facilities. Our instructors see familiar faces each week and create a place where members of different ages and abilities feel comfortable moving and succeeding.
Classes are one hour, but for water-based classes taught in deep water, we pay for 1.5 hours for each scheduled class to include setup and teardown time. Starting at $25 per hour, that means at least $37.50 in paid time per class. Scheduling is flexible based on your availability and our programming needs.
We're currently looking for staff for a 7:15 AM deep-water class either on Wednesday or Thursday. This class comes with a dedicated group of students eager to return to the water!
Why This Teaching Opportunity Is Different
Aquatic fitness at Mountain Park is about more than leading a workout. Our classes support strength, balance, mobility, cardiovascular health, and confidence for seniors, beginners, and people returning to exercise.
You will teach an established community with dedicated students eager to return to class that values welcoming, consistent instruction. With W-2 employment and organizational support, you can focus on delivering a great class and connecting with participants.
What You Will Lead
You will plan and lead safe, engaging group water exercise classes that use the natural resistance of the water to help participants improve their fitness and well-being.
- Guide appropriate warm-ups, cardiovascular conditioning, strength work, balance, flexibility, and cool-downs.
- Demonstrate proper technique and offer modifications or progressions for different fitness and mobility levels.
- Use aquatic equipment such as buoys, noodles, and resistance tools safely and effectively.
- Create an inclusive class environment where participants feel encouraged, supported, and successful.
- Monitor participants and reinforce safe movement and pool practices.
- Arrive with a prepared class plan and music, then set up and store equipment before and after class.
What You Get at Mountain Park
- Starting at $25 per hour, with some flexibility based on certifications and experience.
- Thirty additional paid minutes for setup and teardown with every one-hour deep water class - at least $37.50 paid per deep water class at the starting rate.
- Flexible part-time scheduling based on your availability and program needs.
- W-2 employment, including employer-managed payroll and Oregon Sick Leave.
- An established member community with no need to build your own client base.
- Complimentary club membership and access to club amenities.
- Support from an established fitness and wellness team.
If you love helping people discover what movement in the water can do, we would love to meet you. Apply today and bring your teaching style to the Mountain Park pool.
