About this role
Indoor Cycling Instructor - $25+/Hour (W-2)
Mountain Park HOA | Lake Oswego, Oregon
Part-time | 1-2 classes per week | Classes typically 1 hour
Love teaching cycle without the contractor side of the fitness industry
At Mountain Park HOA, our fitness instructors are W-2 employees, not 1099 independent contractors.
We are looking for an energetic Indoor Cycling Instructor to lead Tuesday and Thursday evening classes in our community fitness center. Classes are typically one hour long, making this a great opportunity for an instructor who wants to add two consistent weekly classes to an existing schedule.
Starting pay is $25 per hour, with some flexibility based on your certifications, experience, and what you bring to our fitness program.
As a Mountain Park employee, you can focus on creating a great class and connecting with riders without operating as an independent contractor. Mountain Park handles payroll and employer payroll taxes, and you will join an established organization and supportive fitness team. You will also receive complimentary access to our fitness facilities and group fitness classes.
A Different Kind of Fitness Community
Mountain Park is not a commercial gym or boutique cycling studio. We are a unique residential community in Lake Oswego with our own recreation and fitness facilities serving the people who call Mountain Park home.
Our instructors have the opportunity to build real connections with their riders. You will see familiar faces from week to week, get to know your class, and help create the kind of supportive fitness community that keeps people coming back.
Whether someone is clipping in for the first time or looking for a challenging ride after a long day, we want every rider to leave your class feeling successful and excited to return.
What You Will Do
You will create and lead safe, energetic indoor cycling classes using great music, effective coaching, and plenty of encouragement. You will guide riders through intervals, climbs, sprints, endurance work, and other cycling formats while emphasizing proper technique and safe body mechanics.
- Help riders with bike setup, resistance, cadence, technique, and modifications.
- Create motivating playlists and a welcoming class experience for different ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
- Check equipment and leave the cycling studio clean and ready for our members.
