As Local Process Expert Transaction Monitoring , you are the local subject matter expert for Transaction Monitoring within Wholesale Banking Netherlands (WB NL). You provide expertise, challenge and insights to help ensure that transaction monitoring controls, processes and data effectively identify and mitigate Financial Economic Crime (FEC) risks while supporting an efficient and client-focused banking experience.

The team

You will join the Wholesale Banking Netherlands Financial Crime Prevention (WB NL FCP) team. WB NL FCP is responsible for safeguarding ING against Financial Economic Crime risks while enabling sustainable business growth and an excellent client experience.

We work in a dynamic environment where collaboration is key. You will work closely with colleagues across FCP, Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), Non-Financial Risk (NFR), Front Office, Client Services and Global Transaction Monitoring teams. Together, we continuously improve our risk framework, controls and ways of working to keep ING safe and compliant while supporting our clients.

Roles and responsibilities

As Local Process Expert Transaction Monitoring, you will:

- Act as the local subject matter expert for Transaction Monitoring-related FEC risks within WB NL.
- Perform local risk assessments and identify emerging risks, trends and typologies relevant to the WB NL portfolio.
- Provide local expertise and insights on Transaction Monitoring controls, scenarios and optimization initiatives.
- Review and challenge proposed changes to monitoring scenarios, thresholds and methodologies from a local perspective.
- Analyse control performance and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Support the assessment of data quality issues, reconciliations, incidents and data-related risks impacting Transaction Monitoring.
- Contribute local input to global initiatives, projects and enhancements affecting Transaction Monitoring.
- Monitor operational performance trends and provide insights regarding quality, productivity and effectiveness from a WB NL perspective.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across FCC, NFR, Front Office, Client Services and Global FCP.
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen risk management while maintaining a strong focus on client experience.

You bring:

- A Master's degree or equivalent academic background.
- At least 5 years of experience within AML, KYC/CDD, Transaction Monitoring or Financial Crime Prevention.
- Strong knowledge of financial crime risks, regulations and Wholesale Banking customer activities.
- Experience working in a complex stakeholder environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Understanding of data quality, data flows and system-driven controls.
- The ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders without formal authority.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, independent and solution-oriented mindset.
- Fluency in English.
