Hill’s Architectural Division is a specialty within Hill for delivering complex architectural metal systems, building enclosure solutions, and prefabricated structures for commercial construction projects.

Our projects range from custom aluminum plate panel systems, composite or insulated wall panels, louvers, and specialty fabricated metals to fully prefabricated equipment buildings and modular structures. We combine engineering, fabrication, project management, and field installation to deliver high-quality solutions for some of the industry's most challenging projects.

Position Summary:

The Project Engineer is an entry to mid-level project management position designed for someone who wants to build a career in the construction industry.

Working alongside experienced team, you will learn every phase of a project from estimating and design coordination through procurement, fabrication, installation, and project closeout.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, enjoys learning technical information, communicates well with others, and takes pride in helping projects succeed.

You are not expected to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Through mentorship and hands-on experience, you'll gradually take ownership of projects while developing the technical and leadership skills needed for a successful career.

Key Responsibilities:

- Become a trusted resource to the Project Manager and Project Executive by proactively supporting project execution from award through closeout.

- Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date project documentation, ensuring all project records are complete and easily accessible.

- Communicate professionally and proactively with customers, architects, general contractors, vendors, fabrication teams, and internal departments to keep projects moving forward.

- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities by identifying issues early, proposing solutions, and following tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.

- Develop a strong working knowledge of architectural metal systems, building enclosure systems, fabrication methods, installation practices, and applicable industry standards.

- Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules while monitoring critical milestones, procurement activities, fabrication, and installation progress.

- Coordinate and review shop drawings, engineering documents, fabrication details, and field measurements to ensure accuracy prior to production.

- Prepare field sketches, installation details, and coordination drawings to support fabrication and field operations.

- Prepare, track, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, samples, mock-ups, change orders, and project closeout documentation.

- Track project costs, committed costs, purchase orders, and change orders while assisting with monthly project forecasting.

- Coordinate procurement activities and monitor material deliveries to support fabrication and installation schedules.

- Support field operations by assisting with installation coordination, resolving technical issues, participating in site meetings, and conducting field measurements as required.

- Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control inspections in both the fabrication shop and the field to verify compliance with project specifications, approved shop drawings, and company quality standards.

- Assist in developing project-specific safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and other required project safety documentation.

- Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and coordination issues before fabrication begins.

- Participate in field verification, mock-ups, and final punch list activities.

- Learn to independently manage increasingly complex architectural metals projects as experience grows.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

- Bachelor Degree Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or related major is required

- 0-5 years experience working in construction, engineering, or manufacturing

- Ability and willingness to learn construction drawings and specifications

- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint)

- Experience in Bluebeam Revu a plus

- Experience with CAD and Revit a plus
