The Client Relationship Management (CRM) team serves as the ambassador and primary relationship lead for IMCO's institutional clients and   prospect   relationships. Given the critical importance of client partners to IMCO, the CRM team leads core organizational initiatives and activities to enhance the client experience and serves as the client's voice and advocate within IMCO. The CRM team also builds and cultivates relationships with prospective institutional clients in Ontario's public sector and oversees the onboarding and integration of new client relationships into IMCO. In addition, the team provides strategic client advisory services, including portfolio construction and asset mix advice, helping clients align their investment strategies,   objectives , and risk considerations with IMCO's investment capabilities and long-term investment views.

The CRM team is accountable for managing the growth and retention of clients, proactively addressing evolving needs, generating new business, and engaging with prospective clients while onboarding and integrating new clients into IMCO. The CRM team is accountable for fostering and managing an enhanced and consistent positive client experience across IMCO and partners with internal functional teams to support a client-centric mindset throughout the organization.

The Opportunity

IMCO is seeking an experienced investment professional to join its Client Relationship Management team as   Principal, Investment Insights.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Investment Insights and Client Reporting, the Principal will serve as a key link between IMCO's investment teams and institutional clients. The role   is responsible for   developing and delivering investment insights, portfolio commentary, market perspectives, and thought leadership that help clients understand IMCO's investment strategies, portfolio positioning, performance outcomes, and long-term investment views.

The   Principal   will work closely with   IMCO’s asset class teams , Portfolio Construction, Risk, Performance, and Research teams to translate complex investment concepts into clear and meaningful client-facing content. The role requires someone who will proactively build relationships across IMCO’s investment platform, independently   identify   emerging themes and client-relevant issues, and mobilize the right   expertise   to develop   timely   investment perspectives. The   Principal   will take initiative in shaping IMCO’s investment insights and client education agenda, rather than relying solely on assigned deliverables or established reporting cycles.

This is a fixed-term contract opportunity for   16   months.

As a Member of Our Team, You Will:

- Serve as a key liaison between IMCO’s investment teams, CRM, and institutional clients, and as an investment subject matter expert within CRM, equipping relationship managers and clients with   timely   insights on portfolio outcomes, investment decisions, market developments, and strategic initiatives.

- Build trusted relationships and credibility across IMCO’s investment platform, proactively engaging portfolio   managers   and subject matter experts to understand their perspectives, connect insights across teams, and   identify   issues and opportunities relevant to clients.

- Independently   identify   emerging investment themes, portfolio developments, and client questions that   warrant   further analysis or communication, and take ownership of moving ideas from   initial   concept through delivery.

- Partner with investment professionals to translate investment views, portfolio developments,   strategic   research, and market perspectives into clear,   accurate , and meaningful client-facing communications.

- Monitor economic, geopolitical, market, and portfolio developments and develop   timely   investment insights, market commentary, portfolio narratives, and thought leadership on themes relevant to client portfolios and long-term investment outcomes.

- Lead investment thought leadership and client education initiatives, including market updates, thematic publications, webinars, roundtables, and other client communications.

- Lead the investment content and messaging for client meetings, investment committees, boards, conferences, and industry events, working closely with Client Reporting teams to develop supporting materials, and participate in discussions on investment strategy, portfolio positioning, asset allocation, performance, risk, and long-term market themes.

- Bring together the appropriate expertise across CRM and the investment platform to support a coherent IMCO investment narrative, strengthen the development and delivery of investment insights, and ensure communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with IMCO’s investment philosophy, current investment views, and client needs.

What do you need to succeed?

- 8 to 10 years of experience in institutional asset management, investment consulting, portfolio strategy, capital markets, or a related investment field.

- Strong understanding of institutional investing, asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment performance, and capital markets, with the judgment to   identify   the issues most relevant to institutional clients.

- Proven ability to interpret complex investment issues and translate them into clear,   accurate , and compelling investment commentary, market insights, thought leadership, presentations, and other client-facing communications.

- Excellent communication, writing, presentation, and public speaking skills, including experience presenting to institutional clients, boards, investment committees, or senior executives.

- Demonstrated ability to   establish   trusted relationships and credibility with portfolio managers, researchers, strategists, and other investment professionals, and to use those relationships to surface insights,   facilitate   collaboration, and advance shared priorities.

- Highly proactive and self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to originate ideas, independently   identify   opportunities, navigate ambiguity, and drive initiatives from concept through execution with limited direction.

- Sound judgment and the confidence to bring forward a perspective, constructively challenge thinking, influence across teams and levels, and   determine   when an issue requires broader input or escalation.

- Strong intellectual curiosity, interpersonal skills, and attention to accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.   Bachelor’s degree in Finance , Economics, Business, or a related discipline   required ; CFA designation preferred. CAIA, CIPM, FRM, or experience working directly with sophisticated institutional investors would be considered an asset.
