Position Overview:

Forum Asset Management is seeking an Associate, Corporate Development and Private Equity to originate, execute and manage investments alongside senior members of the team, reporting to the Managing Partner, Corporate Development and Private Equity. Based in our Toronto office, this role will be a key member of the Corporate Development and Private Equity team and will contribute to driving investment performance across Forum’s corporate development and private equity strategies.

This is a high-impact role within a growing corporate development and private equity group, working directly alongside senior deal team members to originate, structure, execute and manage investments. The Associate will build and maintain complex financial models, lead diligence workstreams and help shape recommendations that go directly to Forum's Investment Committee. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Play an active role in growing Forum's corporate development and private equity platforms, including emerging verticals such as self-storage

- Support deal teams in generating, evaluating, structuring and executing investments

- Build and maintain complex, dynamic financial models to support investment evaluation, structuring, financing and performance measurement

- Conduct comparable company, precedent transaction, discounted cash flow and other valuation analyses

- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, reports and proposals for internal stakeholders and the Investment Committee

- Assist with the management and monitoring of portfolio investments, including performance updates and valuations

- Build and maintain relationships with management teams, partners, consultants and lenders

- Conduct thorough due diligence across financial, operational, legal and market dimensions

- Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to accelerate diligence, modelling and reporting workflows

- Liaise with portfolio company management teams and support business development initiatives

Candidate Profile:

- University degree in Finance, Economics, Business/Commerce or a related discipline

- 2+ years of experience in a transactional environment, including investment banking, private equity, private credit, venture capital, project development and/or corporate development

- CFA, CPA or CA designation considered an asset

- Proven track record of outstanding academic and professional performance

- Advanced financial modelling, valuation and accounting skills, with the ability to build complex models from scratch

- Familiarity with debt financing products, including corporate, project and structured finance

- AI-native instincts: comfortable using AI tools to accelerate modelling, diligence and reporting, with a builder's mindset toward improving how the team works

- Entrepreneurial and competitive, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders under tight timelines

- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy

- Legally eligible to work in Canada
