Role Purpose
The BIM Electrical Team Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the electrical BIM team in the development, coordination, and delivery of accurate Building Information Models and construction documentation for electrical systems.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical building services, BIM processes, and construction requirements, together with the ability to lead a team and coordinate effectively with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other project disciplines.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the electrical BIM team in developing and maintaining accurate 3D models for building services projects.
- Review electrical BIM models, drawings, and deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, design intent, and company standards.
- Develop and maintain electrical models using Revit MEP and other relevant BIM software.
- Model electrical systems including:
- LV power distribution
- Lighting systems
- Small power
- Cable containment
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Fire alarm systems
- ELV systems
- Electrical equipment and associated services
- Ensure models contain the required level of detail and information in accordance with project BIM requirements.
- Prepare and review electrical layouts, sections, details, schedules, and coordinated drawings.
- Conduct model-based design and construction coordination.
- Identify and resolve clashes between electrical systems and other disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and support the resolution of technical issues.
- Review and implement project-specific BIM Execution Plans, standards, templates, and modeling procedures.
- Ensure proper model federation, naming conventions, worksharing, and model management practices.
- Support the preparation of shop drawings, coordination drawings, as-built models, and BIM handover documentation.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field .
- 6-8 years of experience in BIM/MEP, with relevant experience in electrical BIM modeling and coordination.
- Previous experience leading or supervising an electrical BIM team is preferred.
- Strong experience in Revit MEP .
- Good knowledge of Navisworks Manage and BIM coordination processes.
- Experience with AutoCAD and other relevant BIM/design software.
- Knowledge of electrical building services and MEP construction practices.
