Construction Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION
Designation: Construction Supervisor Department: Project Engineering Reporting To: Sr. Engineer / Construction Manager Organization Level: Project Level Experience: 0–15 years of relevant experience in construction/site execution (Residential/Commercial/Industrial construction only)

Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Manpower Management

- Plan and allocate contract labour as per activity priorities and project requirements.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower for timely completion of activities.
- Prepare daily category-wise manpower deployment details.
- Allocate work to labour gangs as directed by the Engineer.
- Train labour gangs on concreting, steel fixing and shuttering activities.

- Construction Execution

- Coordinate with the Storekeeper for unloading and deployment of adequate manpower for materials received at site.
- Understand the planned concrete sequence and execution methodology in coordination with the Engineer/JE.
- Supervise labour gangs engaged in concreting and related activities.
- Ensure proper sequence of concrete pouring, vibration and compaction.
- Monitor curing activities on a daily basis.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleaning after completion of construction activities.
- Ensure concrete buckets, equipment and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Check temporary water supply, electricity arrangements and related site requirements.
- Identify construction defects and coordinate with the Engineer for corrective actions.
- Ensure work is carried out as per approved checklists and required quality standards.
- Coordinate and remain present during client inspections, as required.

- Quality & Documentation

- Ensure adherence to quality checks for concreting and other assigned activities.
- Maintain records of concrete quantities.
- Assist the Engineer in preparing daily reports and quality reports.
- Assist in taking measurements, checking levels and preparing required documentation/bills.
- Ensure proper documentation of daily site activities.

- Equipment & Material Management

- Collect materials from stores as per approved indent.
- Ensure proper utilization and handling of materials at site.
- Monitor the condition of equipment, tools, tackles and machinery.
- Report any deficiency or issue related to plant, machinery, equipment, tools or tackles to the concerned Engineer.
- Ensure proper cleaning, greasing and oiling of equipment wherever required.

- EHS Responsibilities

- Ensure that all workers follow required safety measures for the respective construction activity.
- Ensure 100% compliance with applicable safety norms at the work location.
- Ensure Permit and PPE compliance at site.
- Participate in HIRA and ERA activities along with the concerned Engineer.
- Attend HSE training and Tool Box Talks (TBT).
- Provide necessary inputs during investigation of any safety incident at site.
- Immediately stop any unsafe work and inform the concerned Engineer/management.

Key Authorities
- Allocate and supervise labour gangs as per work requirements.
- Collect materials from stores against approved indents.
- Train and guide labour gangs on concreting, steel fixing and shuttering activities.
- Instruct workers regarding housekeeping and site cleanliness.
- Stop unsafe work whenever required to ensure site safety.

Educational Qualification SSC / HSC / Graduate.
