Job Description

As an SAP BTP Integration Suite Technical Architect, you will be a vital Associate within our global digital technologies team. You will serve as the hands-on technical authority for our SAP-centric digital ecosystem, designing and building the robust interfaces that connect our core ERP platforms with cloud applications, warehouse systems, and external commercial partners.

By designing resilient, high-performing integration patterns in SAP BTP, you ensure that business-critical transactions—such as multi-million dollar sales orders or real-time warehouse movements—flow securely and without interruption.

·       Responsibility: You will own the health, scalability, and security of our SAP BTP Integration Suite tenants. You will take the initiative to establish solid development practices, configure robust monitoring, and mentor other technical Associates to build their capability in modern SAP technologies.

·       Mutuality: You will design integration pathways that benefit both our internal business segments and our external partners. Whether integrating with a global retail customer or a third-party logistics provider, you ensure interfaces are intuitive, standardized, and mutually productive.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP BTP Integration Suite Technical Architecture & Design

·       Serve as the lead hands-on architect for SAP BTP Integration Suite (SAP BTP IS), defining design standards, governance, and reusable frameworks across the global enterprise.

·       Design and implement complex end-to-end integration scenarios using Cloud Integration (CPI), SAP API Management, Open Connectors, and SAP Integration Advisor.

·       Champion the "Clean Core" philosophy by utilizing standard SAP APIs (OData, SOAP) and extension methodologies to keep custom development external to the core S/4HANA or ECC systems.

·       Lead the evaluation, technical design, and execution of legacy migration initiatives (such as migrating from SAP PI/PO to SAP BTP Integration Suite).

·       Establish robust exception-handling, centralized logging, and proactive monitoring policies for all SAP-bound integration pipelines.

2. Multi-Platform Connectivity & Adjacent Landscape Coexistence

·       Design and govern the connectivity boundaries where the SAP BTP tenant interfaces with our broader global middleware footprint.

·       Collaborate with adjacent technology teams to ensure seamless data exchange between SAP BTP IS and other enterprise middleware systems, including Azure Integration Services (AIS), MuleSoft, and Solace PubSub+.

·       Ensure reliable SAP-centric B2B/EDI transaction flows, integrating standard EDI messages from supply chain and retail partners through our external gateways (such as OpenText) into core SAP modules.

3. Hands-On Engineering & DevOps Governance

·       Actively develop complex integration flows (iFlows), writing custom Groovy scripts, XSLT, or Java mappings where native adapters require customization.

·       Define and govern CI/CD pipelines for SAP BTP IS deployments using modern DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Project Piper, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps) to automate testing and transport management.

·       Perform runtime optimization, memory profiling, and database utilization tuning within the BTP environment to guarantee high performance under peak loads.

·       Collaborate with security squads to configure robust authentication mechanisms, including OAuth 2.0, SAML, principal propagation, and SSL certificate management.

4. Segment Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

·       Partner closely with regional Business Relationship Managers, Segment Leaders, and Functional SAP squads (O2C, P2P, Supply Chain) to translate business requests into high-fidelity technical specs.

·       Act as an active technical mentor to junior integration developers and regional consultants, conducting peer code reviews and leading technical workshops.

·       Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date architectural blueprints, interface catalogs, and setup documentation for all global SAP BTP configurations.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Industry & Domain Expertise (Mandatory)

·       CPG/FMCG Sector Experience: Experience in working as an integration architect or technical lead within a global Consumer Packaged Goods, retail, or high-volume manufacturing environment.

·       Core SAP Functional Knowledge: Working familiarity with standard SAP functional modules and business cycles, including:

Order-to-Cash (O2C): Customer pricing, EDI orders, billing, and retail partner integrations.
Procure-to-Pay (P2P): Supplier catalogs, automated purchasing, and material management.
Supply Chain & Logistics: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), 3PL/4PL operations, inventory synchronization, and GS1 standard serialization.

·       Order-to-Cash (O2C): Customer pricing, EDI orders, billing, and retail partner integrations.

·       Procure-to-Pay (P2P): Supplier catalogs, automated purchasing, and material management.

·       Supply Chain & Logistics: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), 3PL/4PL operations, inventory synchronization, and GS1 standard serialization.

Technical Stack & Platform Expertise

·       SAP BTP Integration Suite (Core Expert): Extensive hands-on expertise with SAP Cloud Integration (CPI), SAP API Management, and SAP Event Mesh. Deep experience writing custom Groovy Scripts and processing standard IDocs, RFCs, and OData APIs.

·       SAP Backend Ecosystem: Solid technical understanding of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and Cloud Line of Business applications (e.g., SAP Ariba, SuccessFactors, SAP IBP).

·       Landscape Awareness (Touchpoint Knowledge): Broad working familiarity with how modern SAP architectures interface with adjacent enterprise technologies:

·       Azure IS & MuleSoft: High-level understanding of coexisting with non-SAP enterprise API strategies and cloud service buses.

·       Solace PubSub+: Basic understanding of integrating BTP Event Mesh with enterprise-wide event brokers.

·       OpenText / B2B EDI: Conceptual awareness of external EDI translators processing ANSI X12 or EDIFACT flows into standard SAP structures.

·       Web Services & Protocols: Mastery of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, WSDL, and OData protocols.

·       Azure IS & MuleSoft: High-level understanding of coexisting with non-SAP enterprise API strategies and cloud service buses.

·       Solace PubSub+: Basic understanding of integrating BTP Event Mesh with enterprise-wide event brokers.

·       OpenText / B2B EDI: Conceptual awareness of external EDI translators processing ANSI X12 or EDIFACT flows into standard SAP structures.

Education & Certifications

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a highly related field.

Preferred Certification: SAP Certified Associate - Integration Suite (or equivalent modern SAP BTP certification)
