In the HPE Hybrid Cloud , we lead the innovation agenda and technology roadmap for all of HPE. This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise Hybrid Cloud, Virtualization, Observability, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them modernize their IT operations through cloud management platforms, automation, observability, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with business acumen and has extensive experience architecting complex enterprise solutions across infrastructure, networking, cloud, and operations domains. This role will work closely with customers, sales teams, consulting teams, and technology partners to define solution architectures and drive successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership

- Lead architecture discussions, solution design workshops, and technical strategy engagements with customers.
- Develop end-to-end solution architectures spanning virtualization, cloud management, observability, and software-defined networking.
- Provide architectural governance and ensure alignment with customer business and technical objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor for digital transformation, cloud modernization, and operational excellence initiatives.

Hybrid Cloud & Cloud Management Platforms

- Architect and implement hybrid and multi-cloud solutions.
- Design cloud governance, automation, self-service, provisioning, and policy-driven operational frameworks.
- Develop cloud operating models that improve agility, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Guide customers through cloud migration and platform modernization initiatives.

Virtualization & Infrastructure Modernization

- Design and optimize virtualization solutions using VMware, Nutanix, HPE VM Essentials, Hyper-V, KVM, and related technologies.
- Architect resilient and scalable infrastructure platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
- Lead capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

Observability & AIOps

- Architect enterprise observability solutions covering infrastructure, applications, networks, and cloud environments.
- Design monitoring, analytics, event correlation, automation, and operational intelligence frameworks.
- Leverage metrics, logs, traces, topology, and telemetry data to improve operational visibility and business outcomes.
- Enable proactive operations through automation and AI-assisted insights.

Software-Defined Networking (SDN)

- Design software-defined networking architectures for enterprise data centres and hybrid cloud deployments.
- Define network segmentation, micro-segmentation, Zero Trust architectures, and SD-WAN strategies.
- Integrate networking, security, and cloud operations into a unified operational model.
- Drive network automation and Infrastructure-as-Code adoption.

Customer & Business Engagement

- Support presales activities, solution positioning, proposals, and technical presentations.
- Conduct executive-level customer discussions and roadmap workshops.
- Partner with sales, consulting, delivery, and support organisations to ensure customer success.
- Mentor solution architects and engineering teams across multiple projects.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.

Experience

- 12+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, networking, or solution architecture roles.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale enterprise technology solutions.
- Experience engaging with senior technical and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise customers undertaking cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, observability, and networking initiatives. They should possess deep expertise in virtualization, cloud management platforms, observability technologies, and software-defined networking while being comfortable leading customer-facing architecture discussions and strategic technology engagements. This background aligns well with modern Hybrid Cloud and Observability solution domains.
