## How You’ll Spend Your Day
•Own the enterprise data architecture blueprint - conceptual, logical and physical models and canonical entities (Product, Molecule, Study, Patient, Site, Batch, Customer, HCP) across the full pharma value chain. •Drive harmonization at scale - converge master and reference data across business units, eliminating silos, duplication and divergent standards. •Embed industry standards by design - IDMP, CDISC, HL7 FHIR, ISA-95, GS1 and Allotrope built into the architecture rather than retrofitted. •Architect the domain and data mesh operating model - define bounded contexts, domain ownership, data products and contracts from Research through Commercial and Enterprise Functions. •Automate the semantic layer into the platform - partner with Platform Engineering to encode models, metadata, lineage and catalog standards into Databricks Lakehouse, Unity Catalog and the Enterprise Data Marketplace. •Make data AI-ready - deliver semantically rich, governed and discoverable data products that power analytics, AI/ML and GenAI workloads. •Set and enforce governance - architectural guardrails, modeling standards, Data Architecture Review Boards, and compliance with GxP, GDPR, HIPAA and 21 CFR Part 11. •Lead as a trusted advisor - shape enterprise data strategy and transformation roadmaps with business and IT leaders, and mentor modelers, engineers and analysts.
## Your Skills and Experience

8+ yrs architecture, incl. 4+ in pharma / life sciences

Enterprise data modeling, ontology engineering and semantic modeling

Domain-Driven Design and Data Mesh / Data Fabric at enterprise scale

Databricks (Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, Delta) and Azure

Modeling and semantic tooling (Erwin / dbt; OWL, RDF, SPARQL) and graph platforms

Data governance and catalog tools (Purview, Collibra, Alation); Kafka / API integration

Pharma and architecture standards: CDISC, IDMP, HL7 FHIR, GS1, TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK

Stakeholder leadership, mentoring and strategic thinking with delivery focus

## Also Good to Have

•  Experience implementing knowledge graphs for drug discovery, clinical insights, or RWE.

•  Experience enabling GenAI / RAG / Agentic AI through semantic layers and ontologies.

•  Familiarity with FAIR, Pistoia Alliance, and Allotrope Foundation initiatives.

•  Advanced degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or related field.
