ROLE SUMMARY
The Architectural Design Director leads design strategy and delivery across Majid Al Futtaim’s residential communities, shopping malls, and hotels. The role directs internal and consultant architectural teams, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused, and functional design solutions that strengthen the brand. Responsible for preserving project vision and design intent from concept to completion, the role also advances sustainability, digital innovation, and design excellence across all projects.

ROLE PROFILE

- Develop project vision documents with Development teams, defining customer experience and overall design direction.
- Create and refine project briefs, delivering customer-centric, functional architectural solutions aligned with business objectives and MAF standards.
- Integrate stakeholder requirements while maintaining design consistency and MAF brand standards.
- Lead consultant selection, evaluation, and management, ensuring high-quality design delivery and coordination with budgets and timelines.
- Direct the Architectural team in producing innovative, functional concepts, layouts, masterplans, and first-to-market design solutions.
- Drive excellence in retail, mixed-use, residential, and master planning through strong expertise in customer journeys, urban planning, and placemaking.
- Safeguard design intent, conduct design reviews, promote innovation, benchmarking, sustainability, and identify value-enhancing opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop design teams, fostering collaboration, performance excellence, professional growth, and a high-quality design culture.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred), strong Egypt market and client-side development experience, with UAE/KSA exposure considered an advantage.
- Deep knowledge of industry best practices, with 15-20 years of creative design management experience in residential and mixed-use developments.
- Innovative, adaptable leader with the ability to drive change, inspire teams, and promote creative solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, influencing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong expertise in design management, construction processes, procurement, tendering, and design standards.
- Extensive experience leading and managing multidisciplinary design teams and stakeholders on large, complex development projects.
