About the Role

This is a hands-on operational leadership role focused on building high-performing production teams while delivering exceptional quality, efficiency, and safety.

As an Operational Leader , you are responsible for ensuring your team delivers—every shift, every day—through clear expectations, consistent follow-up, real-time coaching, and strong leadership on the production floor.

You won't be leading from behind a desk.

You'll be actively involved in day-to-day operations—training employees, removing obstacles, solving production challenges, and helping your team succeed.

Your primary responsibility is simple: build a team that consistently performs at a high level.

What You'll Do

Lead Daily Execution

- Set clear expectations for every shift.

- Monitor production performance and workflow.

- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

Provide Hands-On Operational Support

- Stay actively engaged on the production floor.

- Remove obstacles that impact productivity.

- Troubleshoot operational issues in real time.

- Support employees through changing priorities and production demands.

Build and Develop Your Team

- Train, coach, and mentor team members.

- Hold employees accountable while helping them grow.

- Support onboarding for new employees and new equipment.

- Foster an environment built on trust, ownership, and continuous learning.

Enforce Standards

- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed.

- Maintain quality expectations and production standards.

- Reinforce safe work practices every day.

Own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Monitor output, quality, efficiency, attendance, and other operational metrics.

- Use data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

- Drive results through coaching and accountability.

Execute PTA (Procedure • Training • Audit)

Ensure work is:

- Clearly documented.

- Properly trained.

- Consistently followed.

- Regularly audited.

Drive Continuous Improvement

- Identify operational issues early.

- Implement practical solutions.

- Improve workflows, communication, and team performance.

- Support Lean thinking and process improvement initiatives.

Communicate Clearly

- Provide timely coaching and feedback.

- Escalate issues before they become larger problems.

- Build strong relationships across Production, Engineering, Quality, and Leadership.

What You Need (Required Qualifications)

Education

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Business, Leadership, or a related field is considered an asset.

Experience

- Proven experience leading teams within a manufacturing or operations environment.

- Demonstrated success driving accountability, performance, and team development.

- Experience managing daily production activities and operational priorities.

Leadership Skills

- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and develop others.

- Comfortable setting expectations and holding people accountable.

- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.

- High sense of ownership, urgency, and personal accountability.

- Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.

- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.

- Passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing frontline employees.

Certifications / Licences

- None required.

Other Requirements

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

- Must be able to work full-time on-site in Wilmington, North Carolina.

- Must be available to work the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shift.

What Would Be Considered an Asset

- Experience in high-mix or custom manufacturing environments.

- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

- Experience training, mentoring, or developing frontline employees.

- Experience leading change initiatives.

- Knowledge of manufacturing KPIs and production planning.

- Experience implementing standardized work or operational best practices.

- Strong understanding of safety, quality, and manufacturing systems.

Our starting annual total compensation package—including base salary and performance incentives—ranges from $45,000 to $65,000 USD, depending on experience.
