Engineering Graduate - Construction Services (52930)

Job Summary:

Urban is growing and seeking a qualified Engineering Graduate to work as part of our Construction Services Team on complex highway, bridge, facility, and aviation projects throughout the greater Harrisburg region. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates with a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field to develop their skills and gain valuable experience in construction inspection and construction management.

Job Responsibilities

- On-site performance monitoring of highway, bridge, aviation, and facility projects and documenting that they are being constructed in conformance with the plans and specifications.

- Reviewing and documenting the field activities performed by the contractor daily and act as a representative for the client.

- Communication between the construction services team, contractor, and client is required daily.

- Provide direct support to the Construction Manager/Construction Engineer.

- Other tasks include but not limited to: Project Site Activity (PSA) reports, electronic tablet and computer usage, processing payments, issuing work authorizations and work orders, and monitoring of the project schedule.

- Oversee project submissions, including submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, etc.

- Participate in training and mentoring opportunities designed to develop skills in project management and engineering.

- Work towards passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and subsequently the Professional Engineer exam.

- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Construction Services Team.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management or a related discipline is required.

- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) / Engineering Intern (EI) Certificate in Pennsylvania is preferred.

- Previous experience in design, inspection, or construction management of heavy highway/bridge/facilities/airport projects is a plus.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Excellent oral, written, communication and organizational skills.

Pay Rate: $66,000 annually + travel reimbursement
