Phlebotomist

Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description The primary role of the phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position requires a professional who can effectively manage multiple tasks while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities

- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and update patient information.
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections in a clear and courteous manner.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Fully understand and follow physicians' orders.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
- Ensure accuracy by checking test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.
- Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature.
- Label specimens accurately and follow procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport.
- Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Attend annual department trainings.
- Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
- Primarily work with adults and geriatric patients.

Work Environment Worksite details: Training will occur here the first 2 weeks of being hired Phlebotomist will travel to sites in Float position will be covering a large scale of locations from: the Southside of Chicago, Bloomingdale, Arlington Heights, Addison, to the Northwest suburbs of IL. Schedule will be given 1-2 weeks out so they know in advance where they're to report to. Hours: Need to be avalible M-F 7am-9pm with rotating Saturdays from 8am-5pm (They will receive a day off during the week when they're scheduled to work a Sat shift) Saturday shifts occur roughly once/month Homebase location: Tinley Park PSC location: 16325 S Harlem Ave, Suite 110, Tinley Park, IL 60477 or 150 Spring Lake Dr., Itasca, IL 601

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Itasca, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
