Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Bay Shore, NY Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 annually Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing manufacturing operation focused on driving efficiency, process improvement, and product commercialization. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys spending time on the production floor, working cross-functionally, and leading projects that improve processes, reduce costs, and support business growth . The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in optimizing manufacturing operations, validating new equipment, supporting new product introductions, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

- Identify, develop, and implement process optimization projects to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Collaborate with Operations, Production, Quality, and R&D teams to execute process improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for cost reduction and formula improvements.
- Support the installation, validation, and implementation of new manufacturing equipment.
- Become a subject matter expert on existing equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Develop, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Train production and operations personnel on equipment, processes, and best practices.
- Coordinate production trials, test runs, and process validation activities.
- Support new product development, scale-up, and commercialization efforts.
- Analyze manufacturing data and provide recommendations to improve performance and reliability.
- Coordinate in-house and third-party analytical studies as required.
- Assist in equipment selection and support operational troubleshooting efforts.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and production objectives are achieved.

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading process improvement and optimization initiatives on the manufacturing floor.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing process documentation and SOPs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

Preferred

- Food and beverage manufacturing experience.
- Experience with product development and large-scale commercialization.
- Experience supporting equipment validation, production trials, and process scale-up activities.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, including Aptean or similar platforms.
- Continuous improvement experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.

Work Environment

- Approximately 70% of the role is spent on the manufacturing floor and 30% in an office environment.
- Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Occasional flexibility is required to support critical production activities, equipment installations, testing, or project implementation outside normal business hours, including evenings or weekends.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bay Shore, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
