Job Title: Automatic Machine Operator (Roto Welder)

Location: Duncan, SC

Schedule: 1st Shift

Employment Type: Full Time

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Roto Welder / Automatic Machine Welder to operate and
monitor automated welding equipment used in the production of precision welded components. The
successful candidate will be responsible for setting up the Roto Welder, loading and positioning
parts, adjusting machine parameters, monitoring weld quality, performing inspections, and making
routine machine adjustments to maintain production and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience operating automated welding machinery, understands basic
welding principles, can read production drawings, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced
manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Operate Roto Welder and other automated welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Set up machines according to work orders, production drawings, welding procedures, and
specifications.
• Load, position, fixture, and secure components into the welding machine.
• Select and adjust welding parameters such as speed, current, voltage, travel rate, and other
machine settings as required.
• Monitor the welding process and make adjustments to maintain consistent weld quality.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of completed welds and components.
• Identify weld defects, machine issues, and production problems and take appropriate corrective
action..
• Follow established welding procedures, quality requirements, and production standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and changeovers.
• Replace consumables and perform basic troubleshooting when necessary.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Communicate production, quality, equipment, and material issues to supervisors or maintenance
personnel.
• Meet established production rates while maintaining required quality standards.
• Perform other manufacturing and welding duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience operating automated welding equipment or CNC/automatic production
machinery preferred.
• Experience with Roto Welder equipment is highly desirable.
• Basic understanding of welding processes and weld quality requirements.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, and welding
specifications.
• Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine problems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Previous manufacturing or metal fabrication experience preferred.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move materials and components as required.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and work around manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including welding-related protective equipment.
• Ability to work around heat, noise, fumes, and moving machinery in accordance with applicable
safety requirements.

Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing/industrial environment. The employee may be exposed
to welding heat, sparks, fumes, noise, metal products, and automated machinery. Proper PPE and
adherence to all safety procedures are required.
