Location: Remote but Houston candidates preferred

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an interim Enterprise Risk Management leader who can quickly assess, troubleshoot, and help stabilize a fragmented ERM function while the company conducts a permanent search. This interim leader will evaluate what the current 30–35 person ERM team is doing, identify gaps/overlap, review existing frameworks/processes/reporting, assess interfaces with project risk and other functions, and recommend a clearer operating model and roadmap for the permanent leader.

A successful candidate will partner closely with senior leadership to strengthen risk governance, improve enterprise-risk visibility and establish a more integrated risk management framework across the business. Must be comfortable operating in ambiguity, challenging existing practices, and recommending structure/scope before the permanent leader is hired.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-on ERM program design, build, and operationalization experience; not just risk reporting or workshop facilitation.
Experience conducting diagnostics/transformation of fragmented ERM, risk, audit, compliance, or governance functions.
Ability to assess team structure, roles, responsibilities, deliverables, gaps, overlap, and business impact across a 30–35 person ERM team.
Strong strategic risk experience, including portfolio, market, geopolitical, M&A, energy transition, and enterprise-level decision support.
Ability to produce credible executive/board-level reporting and support November Board preparation.
Experience interfacing with project/commercial risk, operational risk, finance/treasury, cyber/digital, legal, Health Safety Environment, corporate affairs, and security/crisis management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional risk certification (FRM, PMI-RMP, CIA, ISO 31000 Lead) preferred
Demonstrated experience building or significantly enhancing enterprise risk management programs
Experience working with senior executives and boards of directors
Knowledge of strategic, operational, technology, cyber, and reputational risk disciplines
Experience within large, complex global organizations
Ability to lead organizational change and drive practical business solutions
Experience in engineering, construction, energy, industrial services, infrastructure or related sectors is preferred
