## Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

## Job Summary:

An Industrial Hygienist helps develop and execute the industrial/occupational hygiene component of an Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) Program. This involves administrative and field tasks per established industry practices, procedures, and regulatory and Bechtel requirements. The position requires practical application of industrial hygiene disciplines for managing safety and health aspects of a project or facility. The position reports to an Industrial Hygiene Lead. #LI-AE2

## Major Responsibilities:

- Supports industrial hygiene program administration, compliance, staffing, and technical execution on complex projects.
- Integrates industrial hygiene requirements into planning, design, construction, operations, schedules, training, and subcontracts.
- Provides Industrial Hygiene support across project functions and coordinates requirements with functional leads.
- Researches issues, assesses risk, recommends controls, and prepares technical reports.
- Applies Bechtel’s ESH Management System and risk assessment processes to ensure compliance and continual improvement.
- Supports emergency planning and investigates industrial hygiene incidents.
- Engages stakeholders and participates in meetings with customers, regulators, the public, and contractors.
- Tracks and reports industrial hygiene performance and compliance.
- Oversees subcontracted studies and services and escalates significant issues to ESH management.
- Supports field planning and execution with construction supervision and subcontractors.
- Conducts surveys, inspections, sampling, and monitoring to verify compliance and support ESH disciplines.

## Education and Experience Requirements:

- Requires a Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) related to industrial hygiene and 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to research and comprehend organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Communicates well with diverse stakeholders and has technical writing and data handling skills.
- Demonstrates understanding of ES&H Management Systems.
- Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
- Analytical skills related to environmental sampling and monitoring.
- Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment under project site and weather conditions.
- Ability to support various work shifts, as needed.
- Valid driver’s license.

## Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Knowledge of industrial hygiene standards, regulations, methodologies and resources.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles.
- Knowledge of engineering, construction, and subcontract work processes.
- Knowledge of monitoring and sampling methodologies.
- Knowledge of engineering control systems to mitigate routine hazards.
- Knowledge of routine instrumentation and their capability and use.
- Knowledge of the types of general administrative control methodologies.
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment requirements.
- Skilled in oral and written communication and knowledge of computer applications.
