Full Time Mover Helpers

Location: Wayne, NJ, with travel to tri-state-area job sites

Starting Pay: $16.00 to $20 per hour; higher pay may be offered based on moving experience

Freedom Moving & Storage is hiring dependable, hardworking Mover Helpers . This position primarily involves commercial moving projects, including offices, businesses, warehouses, and other professional facilities, but assignments may also include household moves.

We provide on-the-job training and opportunities for growth. Candidates with commercial or household moving experience may qualify for a higher starting rate.

Responsibilities

- Load and unload office furniture, household furniture, equipment, boxes, files, supplies, and other items

- Move desks, chairs, filing cabinets, shelving, conference tables, appliances, and household furnishings

- Assist with office relocations, warehouse moves, commercial installations, and household moves

- Safely pack, wrap, protect, and transport customers' property

- Use dollies, hand trucks, moving pads, straps, and other moving equipment

- Navigate stairs, elevators, loading docks, hallways, residences, and active job sites

- Follow instructions from drivers, crew leaders, supervisors, and project managers

- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous service at all customer locations

- Keep trucks, equipment, and work areas clean and organized

Schedule and Job Locations

This is a full-time position generally providing 30 or more hours per week . Daily hours are based on customer and operational needs and may vary from week to week.

Employees must report to our Wayne, NJ, office at the beginning of every scheduled shift . Crews will travel from the Wayne location to job sites throughout New Jersey, New York City, and the surrounding tri-state area.

Candidates must be flexible and available for varying start times, extended shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed. Daily hours, start times, and job locations will vary.

Requirements

- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including speaking, reading, and understanding work and safety instructions

- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift

- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy furniture, boxes, appliances, and equipment

- Dependable transportation to report to the Wayne, NJ, office for every scheduled shift

- Reliable attendance and punctuality

- Professional attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

- Flexibility to work varying schedules and at different job locations

- Experience using dollies or moving furniture, equipment, or machinery is preferred but not required
