Summary Description:

The TOPPAN internship program is designed to “test the waters” of working in the manufacturing and packaging industry. You will spend your time working in a specific division on impactful projects, establishing an understanding of TOPPAN’s culture and processes, as well as developing a business mindset. The program is a blend of hands-on experiences and opportunities.  Throughout the program you can expect to gain a better understanding of your future potential at TOPPAN through valuable project work. Our internship program is designed to be a step towards joining the Emerging Leaders Program or other entry-level positions upon graduation. With approximately 150 locations in 34 states, your internship could be anywhere.

While reporting directly to Machinery Engineers, the following job description outlines the essential functions of this role within the Machinery department.  The following list is not exhaustive, and the employee is expected to assume any and all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in the following.

What you’ll be doing:

- Design parts and create 3D models to production quality
- Create part drawings to production quality
- Create clear assembly drawings of complex assemblies
- Organize and create accurate documentation of Alloyd parts and purchased components
- Observe and assist in vendor and sales meetings
- Preform calculations during design process (forces, moments, bending, etc.)
- Read and understand bills of material (BOMs) to create 3D assemblies
- Regularly interact with production, other engineers, and the CNC shop in a positive manner
- Follow plant and machine assembly safety rules and complete all tasks in a safety-conscious manner

This is an ONSITE position located in our DeKalb, IL Facility

We’d love to hear from you if:

- Pursuing BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 3rd-4th year with CAD, Statics, Dynamics, and Mechanics of Materials completed
- Proficiency in Solidworks
- Familiarity with drawings and GD&T
- Great communication and people skills
