# Job Description Summary
The Gas Power Technology Compliance (GPTC) organization provides technical guidance, leadership & tactical directions to drive compliance with global Technical Regulations and Standards (TRS) for projects with Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators, Accessories, HRSG & BOP. GPTC provides coverage in TRS expertise and applicability throughout the entire lifecycle of Power Generation equipment including New Product Introduction (NPI), Inquiry to Order (ITO), Order to Remittance (OTR) and Services.

GPTC is seeking a Lead Engineer responsible for driving compliance with global codes & standards for Heavy Duty & Aero Derivative Gas Power Projects execution in AMERICAS region. The Lead Engineer will effectively collaborate internally with several functions within Gas Power & externally with customers, authorities, and authorized agencies in a multi-cultural & multi-functional environment to ensure technical compliance of products & services offered.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Specialization

- Lead regulatory compliance for Power Generation assets (GT, GEN, ST, BOP), specializing in key TRS categories such as Pressure Equipment, Environmental, and Explosive Atmospheres.
- Conduct assessments, develop technical compliance plans, and act as a subject matter expert to provide data-driven recommendations.
- Interface with external agencies and government bodies to secure international and regional certifications.

Operational & Project Oversight

- Manage the quality, schedule, and cost of compliance activities, ensuring proactive communication of risks and status.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Design, Field) to resolve compliance issues and conduct equipment inspections/audits.
- Demonstrate independent decision-making to solve complex technical problems and drive project compliance.

Business Alignment

- Uphold GEV safety culture and ensure adherence to internal policies and engineering standards.
- Champion business-wide goals, including Lean productivity, Product Cost Out (PCO), and PLM integration.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university or equivalent (Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical or Computer Science & Electrical Engineer preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience in engineering design.
- 2+ years of working experience with IEC, EU Directives & Americas Codes & Standards (Haz areas, Electrical Safety, EMC, Machinery, Pressure Equipment, Building Code).

- Opportunity is based in Greenville, SC; Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.

- This opportunity is eligible to work a Hybrid schedule (Monday to Thursday – Onsite | Fridays – Work from home).

- Ability to lead & execute multiple projects.
- Prior experience in working with regulatory compliance agencies like CSA, UL, Intertek or similar.
- Prior knowledge & experience in EMC & LV testing with agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with Design engineering counterparts.
- Strong oral & written communication skills with peers and leadership.
- Flexible and adaptable to changes in priorities.
- ISO 9001:2018 familiarity.
- Compliance with GE Spirit & Letter, high level of Integrity.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
