Estimator - Commercial Drywall & Metal Framing

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator with a strong background in drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and interior construction .

This role will oversee the estimating process from initial bid invitation through project handoff. You’ll review construction documents, perform detailed quantity takeoffs, obtain and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing, identify project risks, and prepare accurate, competitive proposals.

The ideal candidate understands commercial interior construction, is highly detail-oriented, and can manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and flooring projects.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
- Solicit, analyze, and level pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and potential value-engineering opportunities.
- Prepare complete bid proposals, scope summaries, clarifications, exclusions, and pricing documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, field teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain historical pricing, estimating databases, bid logs, and project documentation.
- Provide detailed estimate breakdowns, assumptions, and scope information during project turnover.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and help improve estimating accuracy and processes.
- Assist with conceptual budgets, negotiated bids, change-order pricing, and other estimating needs.
- Track multiple bids and ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted on time.

Requirements

- 3+ years of commercial estimating experience in drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior trades.
- Commercial interior construction estimating experience is required.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, sequencing, and interior building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
- Proven experience with detailed quantity takeoffs and complete bid preparation.
- Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift , or similar platforms.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple bids, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred.
