HVAC Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing safe, reliable, and professional service.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine system inspections.
- Troubleshoot and repair furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, ventilation systems, and related equipment.
- Test system performance and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate service records and document repairs and parts used.
- Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition.
- Respond to emergency service calls when required.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- HVAC certification, technical training, or trade-school education preferred.
- Previous HVAC installation, maintenance, or service experience preferred.
- EPA 608 certification required for positions involving refrigerant handling.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift equipment and materials and work in confined spaces, on ladders, and in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of electrical controls, thermostats, motors, compressors, and refrigeration systems.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs.
- Strong customer-service skills.
- Ability to accurately diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry HVAC equipment and materials.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, and varying weather conditions.
