About this role
On behalf of UKAEA (UK Atomic Energy Authority) we are looking for an Electrical QA Engineer (INSIDE IR35) for a 10 month contract based in Abingdon.
UKAEA run the UK’s national fusion energy research programme, sponsored by the Government’s Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. They are on a mission to deliver safe, sustainable, low-carbon energy from fusion, achieving maximum scientific and economic benefit along the way.
As an Electrical QA Engineer , your main responsibilities will be:
- Producing electrical quality documentation for large complex remote handling systems.
- To be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of large complex remote handling systems over a variety of different projects within the RACE department.
- To review electrical schematics and BOMs for new prototype equipment and new operational equipment to be put into service.
- To oversee and peer review high quality layout designs for equipment, design enclosures and panels from schematics.
- Interpreting International regulations and directives associated to the Electrical discipline.
- Supporting project managers in ensuring process control are followed and implemented.
Essential:
- Electrical Engineering or technology degree or HND/HNC, or equivalent experience.
- The ability to understand electrical design and relevant standards.
- Extensive hands-on experience in build and installation of electrical systems.
- The ability to interact efficiently with people in a variety of different situations.
- Able to produce high quality work to deadlines.
- Flexible working attitude with the ability to work as an individual or as a team member.
