Modification Manager

Position Summary
The Electronics Engineer – Modification Manager leads, coordinates, and manages engineering modification activities across assigned systems, equipment, and site areas. This role ensures safe, compliant, and technically sound execution of modifications that advance operational readiness, system reliability, and continuous improvement across the facility.

What You Will Do
In this role, you will guide electrical and electronic modification projects from initial concept through full implementation—defining requirements, conducting design reviews, planning and documenting work, and overseeing closeout activities. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and project management teams to ensure all modifications align with schedule, safety expectations, and configuration management standards. Your work will include developing and maintaining detailed modification documentation packages, such as engineering change documents, redlines, design basis notes, and verification and validation records. You will provide technical oversight during field installation, confirming adherence to applicable codes, standards, and procedures, while also evaluating vendor proposals, specifications, drawings, and system interfaces for compatibility with existing infrastructure. You will support troubleshooting efforts, contribute to root‑cause analyses, and help drive reliability enhancements for electrical and control systems. Maintaining high‑quality documentation and accurate system configuration records will be a key part of your responsibilities, along with participating in hazard reviews, readiness assessments, and modification approval boards. Additionally, you will mentor engineers and technicians engaged in modification activities, helping strengthen technical capabilities across the team.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in industrial, nuclear, or highly regulated environments
• Proven experience leading modification or change‑control processes
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, controls, instrumentation, and equipment integration
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting modification programs in DOE or NRC‑regulated facilities
• Familiarity with configuration management systems, ECNs, and structured change processes
• Knowledge of PLCs, motor drives, sensors, and automated equipment
• Project management or leadership experience
• Active or eligible for Q‑level clearance

Pay

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $98,227-$163,711. This position is Incentive eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

This position will require a pre­-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
