About the Role:
The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a Renewable Assistant Teaching Professor position to teach in-person, undergraduate courses in Human Nutrition and in Anatomy and Physiology.
The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a Renewable Assistant Teaching Professor position beginning Fall 2027.
Primary teaching responsibilities will include in-person lecture courses in Human Nutrition as well as in-person lecture and laboratory courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology. Online sections of these courses may also be part of teaching responsibilities, depending on department need. Other courses may be assigned based on the candidate’s background and preference and department needs. The faculty member will be responsible for coordinating multiple sections of Human Nutrition. Student career mentoring responsibilities and departmental service are also required.
Candidates should incorporate innovative, hands-on, dynamic, active-learning methods into their courses and keep current on new teaching strategies and technologies. Candidates should demonstrate commitment and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
A minimum of a master’s degree in Nutrition, Physiology, Medicine, or a related discipline is required. Teaching experience in Nutrition is preferred. Experience with Human Anatomy and Physiology in both laboratory and lecture is encouraged. Online teaching experience is valued. Candidates should be strongly committed to teaching at the undergraduate level.
