📒 About the RN Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing safe, evidence-based medical care to individuals receiving residential treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

As an essential member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will:

🩺 Conduct nursing assessments
💊 Administer and manage medications
🧠 Monitor clinical and behavioral health needs
🚨 Respond to medical concerns and emergencies
🤝 Collaborate with providers and treatment teams
📋 Develop and support nursing care plans
🌱 Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care

🩺 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

🩻 Clinical Care & Assessment

- Conduct nursing assessments, evaluate high-risk indicators, and document findings accurately and promptly.

- Provide direct medical evaluation and intervention as needed.

- Complete individualized nursing care plans for each patient admission.

- Participate in medical discharge planning beginning at intake.

💊 Medication Management

- Administer medications safely and accurately, including during shift handoffs.

- Collaborate with pharmacy and medical providers regarding medication orders and MAR reconciliation.

- Monitor patients for medication side effects and adverse reactions and respond appropriately.

🤝 Collaboration & Treatment Planning

- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.

- Contribute to comprehensive treatment plans addressing medical, psychological, and recovery needs.

- Coordinate medical care with hospitals, providers, families, and other appropriate partners.

📋 Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.

- Follow facility policies, professional nursing standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

- Support licensing, accreditation, and quality expectations related to nursing services.

🛡️ Patient Safety & Milieu Support

- Help maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic treatment environment.

- Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning.

- Model professional and trauma-informed interactions with patients.

- Assist with additional medical and program responsibilities as needed.

✅ Minimum Qualifications

🎓 Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing
🪪 Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of employment
❤️ CPR/First Aid certification , or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or advanced degree.

- 2+ years of experience in substance use disorder, detox, psychiatric, behavioral health, or related nursing settings .

- Experience working with co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, or medical withdrawal management .

🏢 Work Environment

Our RNs work primarily in an indoor, climate-controlled clinical environment.

The position may require regular standing, walking, sitting, bending, documentation, vital-sign monitoring, and assisting with patient movement or repositioning when appropriate.

Because behavioral health and recovery services can involve complex situations, RNs must be able to remain calm, professional, compassionate, and solutions-focused while managing competing clinical priorities.
