Strategic Sourcing Specialist

NOW HIRING: Strategic Sourcing / Estimating Procurement Specialist JOB DESCRIPTION: The strategic sourcing specialist will be supporting estimating and pre-construction teams by developing procurement strategies, sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotations, validating pricing, and building procurement packages that can seamlessly transition into project execution upon award. This role functions as the procurement arm of the estimating team and is responsible for establishing vendor relationships, maintaining current pricing intelligence, and ensuring procurement readiness before projects are awarded. Key Responsibilities:

- - Support estimating and proposal teams
- - Build and manage supplier pricing databases
- - Develop procurement strategies during bid stages
- - Source materials and equipment
- - Obtain vendor quotations
- - Compare supplier pricing and lead times
- - Maintain relationships with preferred vendors
- - Review drawings and BOMs for material takeoffs
- - Build procurement packages for tenders and proposals
- - Ensure procurement activities align with future project execution
- - Support strategic sourcing initiatives
- - Analyze market pricing trends

MUST HAVES:

- - 7 - 12 years exp. in Supply Chain
- - 3-5 years in major procurement (Full RFx Process)
- - RFQ development and administration
- - Strategic sourcing experience
- - Supplier development experience / Vendor relationship management
- - Experience supporting: Estimating teams; pre-construction teams; proposal teams
- -Ability to interpret: Engineering drawings; Specifications; BOMs (Bills of Material); Technical procurement packages
- - Experience managing procurement packages valued in the millions

NICE TO HAVES

- - T&D project experience
- - Experience with Linear projects (pipelines)
- - Substation and distribution purchases (cable pulls, conductors, transformers)
- - Expediting exposure (following up not on important export, need to make sure things do not show up late)
- - JD Edwards
- - Business Certificate, Diploma or Degree
- - Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning financial and commercial terms

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
