We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Manager with a proven track record in managing data center, structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage construction projects. The ideal candidate will excel in delivering profitable projects while fostering strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from planning and kickoff through completion and customer follow-up.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking.
- Prepare and deliver monthly project status updates and percent-complete reporting.
- Oversee project financial performance, profitability, and contract compliance.
- Review project scope and assist with estimating, takeoffs, and pricing activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Coordinate field operations and ensure resources are aligned with project objectives.
- Make decisions related to project cost, schedule, and overall performance.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer relationships and support additional company services.
- Lead project meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Support project closeout activities, turnover documentation, and customer satisfaction efforts.
- Promote a strong safety culture and support an injury-free work environment.
Essential Skills
- Experience managing low-voltage, structured cabling, telecommunications, technology infrastructure, or data center projects.
- Demonstrated experience with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and project execution.
- Strong understanding of contract management and project financial performance.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Ability to interpret project drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience preparing project status reports and communicating with stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Data center project experience.
- Experience managing structured cabling, fiber optic, security, or other low-voltage systems.
- Experience with Viewpoint or similar construction/project management software.
- Electrical contracting or technology systems project experience.
- Experience managing project profitability and P&L responsibility.
Work Environment
This role requires 80-100% travel to various project locations, primarily in the western United States, including states such as Wyoming, Texas, Nevada, and Oklahoma. Projects vary in length from as short as 2 weeks to as long as 6 months. The position offers opportunities for a discretionary year-end bonus, a 401k with a 40% employer match (up to federal limit), and a car allowance. This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Opportunity for a discretionary year-end bonus.
