Job Summary:

Welders are responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture products to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Requirements: Ability to work-on job orders that are moderately complex in nature. Strong abilities in interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement. Ability to exercise judgment in resolving simple problems and making routine recommendations. Ability to receive no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Ability to work in accordance with all internal and external regulatory bodies and industry standards. Ability to learn and follow established quality & safety policies and procedures and department specific work instructions. Self-motivated to meet established schedule. Possesses the ability to use the computer system for basic departmental functions. Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
Qualifications: Requires a High school diploma and formal technical training with a minimum of 1 to 2 years in a related manufacturing environment. 5 years directly related work experience. Requires basic reading, math, and writing skills. Must be familiar with the operations and adjustments of welding machines in the performance of Shielded Metal Arc Weld (SMAW) and Tungsten Arc Weld (TIG) processes. Must be capable of operating a scaling gun and grinder. Must pass a fillet weld assessment in the positions of Vertical and Overhead both single and multiple passes; able to utilize a weld fillet gage; capable of the visual inspection of welds to determine compliance with workmanship standards Must be familiar with the use of a Flow Meter. Must pass a BC (manual steel fillet) and CJ (manual stainless steel) certification weld assessment both written and procedurally
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $18.00 Per Hour
