Tape and Reel Operator

Essential Responsibilities
• Operate tape-and-reel equipment to package electronic components according to established specifications.
• Set up and operate equipment, including selecting appropriate tape, carrier, cover tape, and reel sizes.
• Verify component part numbers, quantities, orientation, and packaging requirements.
• Inspect components and completed reels for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain accurate component identification, labeling, and lot/date-code traceability.
• Follow travelers, work instructions, drawings, and customer-specific requirements.
• Maintain ESD controls and proper handling procedures for electronic components.
• Complete production and inspection documentation accurately and in a timely manner. • Identify and report discrepancies, damaged components, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor or Quality personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, electronics, tape-and-reel, component handling, or similar production experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions and production documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with small electronic components. • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Ability to work in an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
• Oven Operation: Load, program, and monitor industrial convection or vacuum-assisted baking ovens according to strict specifications.

• Parameter Control: Set correct temperature ranges (typically 100°C to 125°C for raw boards or lower for moisture-sensitive components) and precise timing based on material thickness and IPC standards (like IPC-1601 or J-STD-033).
• Material Handling: Arrange PCBs in vertical racks or properly spaced horizontal trays to ensure optimal hot air circulation while wearing ESD-safe and thermal protection gear.
