Engineering Lead Analyst – Test Automation Platform Engineering - VP

The Engineering Lead Analyst – Test Automation Platform Engineering  is a senior-level technical leadership role responsible for driving the architecture, implementation, management, operational support, and continuous enhancement of enterprise test management and automation platforms.

In this role, you will lead efforts to modernize test automation capabilities across the global technology ecosystem. You will architect end-to-end integration workflows, embed automated quality gates into enterprise CI/CD pipelines, and administer as well as operationally support both vendor and internally developed enterprise platforms (e.g., Core Performance Engineering / Performance Center, ALM-Quality Center, Zephyr Enterprise, CSDP / Octane).

Additionally, you will play a critical role in production operations—delivering tier-3 platform support to rapidly and safely troubleshoot, triage, and remediate performance and availability issues in complex, distributed production environments.

The ideal candidate blends deep hands-on expertise in software testing frameworks, modern DevOps pipelines, containerized infrastructure, message-driven integration, and robust operational resilience practices with strong governance, compliance, and stakeholder leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Engineering & Operational Support

- Install, configure, upgrade, administer, and support enterprise test management and performance engineering toolsets (e.g., Core Performance Engineering / Performance Center, ALM-Quality Center, Zephyr Enterprise, Core Software Development Platform [CSDP] / Octane).
- Provide end-to-end operational support for hosted internally developed and vendor enterprise applications, establishing robust monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
- Rapidly and safely troubleshoot, triage, and remediate performance, stability, and availability incidents in production and non-production environments while adhering to strict change management and operational risk protocols.
- Conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews, driving preventive actions to enhance platform resilience, scalability, and uptime.
- Proactively monitor platform health, conduct capacity planning, and implement continuous system and operational enhancements.
- Actively maintain software assets to remediate cyber security vulnerabilities, manage patch lifecycles, and enforce secure baseline configurations.

2. Architecture, Workflow & Integration

- Architect robust workflows across Test Management systems to ensure full bidirectional traceability between business requirements, test plans, test execution, and defect lifecycles, meeting internal SDLC and audit standards.
- Design, build, and deploy integration solutions and event-driven data synchronization pipelines across disparate systems using messaging technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, REST APIs, Webhooks).
- Package, deploy, and support containerized platform utilities and testing services within enterprise container platforms and CI/CD pipelines.

3. CI/CD & Test Automation Frameworks

- Design and embed automated quality gates into DevOps CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Tekton, Harness).
- Lead the design, development, and standardization of functional test automation frameworks, including Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber, Behave, and related test automation tools.
- Partner with development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to establish seamless shift-left testing practices, continuous feedback loops, and automated regression suites.

4. Governance, Risk & Controls

- Serve as a Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the strategic roadmap for the Quality Engineering platform domain.
- Provide direction and oversight to ensure compliance with firm-mandated controls, regulatory frameworks, information security standards, and audit requirements.
- Appropriately assess risk when technical and business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding assets by adhering to enterprise policies, practicing sound judgment, and managing control issues transparently.
- Ensure that disaster recovery (DR), business continuity planning (BCP), and failover procedures are validated and routinely tested.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

- Influence engineering and architectural decisions through consultative advice, technical evaluations, and collaborative design reviews.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and analysts, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning across engineering and operations.
- Collaborate effectively across cross-functional, virtual, and global teams in a matrixed organizational structure.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

Experience & Background

- 13+ years  of hands-on experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or quality engineering automation within a large-scale, complex enterprise or global financial services environment.
- Production Operations & Support:  Proven track record providing operational support for enterprise-scale, hosted internally developed and vendor applications, with demonstrated expertise in safely troubleshooting, triaging, and remediating production performance and availability issues.
- Demonstrated experience in incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), disaster recovery exercises, and operational process change and improvement.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex platform, infrastructure, and integration challenges under pressure.

Technical Skills & Platform Expertise

- Test & Performance Management Tools:  Deep administration and engineering experience with enterprise tools such as ALM-Quality Center, Zephyr Enterprise, Core Software Development Platform (CSDP) / Octane, or Core Performance Engineering (formerly Performance Center).
- Test Automation & Frameworks:  Solid experience architecting and building automated functional testing frameworks using BDD tools (Cucumber, Behave) and integrating them into automated test suites.
- CI/CD & DevOps Automation:  Practical experience embedding automated test execution and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Jenkins, Tekton, or Harness.
- Integration & Messaging:  Proven experience developing integration services and data pipelines using Apache Kafka, message queues, and RESTful APIs.
- Containerization & Cloud Native:  Hands-on experience developing, packaging, and deploying containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift) within CI/CD pipelines.
- Vulnerability Management & Reliability:  Solid understanding of secure coding practices, CVE/vulnerability remediation, infrastructure security hardening, and high availability/resilience patterns.

Soft Skills & Leadership

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and operational issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize competing initiatives, take end-to-end ownership, and deliver results under tight deadlines and high-pressure operational scenarios.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building capabilities in a global, matrixed operating model.

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree / University Degree  in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Master’s Degree  in a related technical discipline is preferred.

$113,840.00 - $170,760.00
