Job Title: Software Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to develop software for both new and existing systems related to aircraft and aircraft test systems. You will be responsible for integrating and testing software on aircraft and in virtual high-fidelity simulation environments, as well as supporting flight test activities. Additionally, you will develop design documentation for both internal and external use and work in adherence to our defined software development processes. You will also develop software test plans and procedures to demonstrate compliance with system requirements. Lastly, you will participate in the planning, designing, testing, and deployment of moderately complex engineered systems and software to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop software for new and existing aircraft systems.
- Integrate and test software on aircraft and in simulation environments.
- Support flight test activities.
- Develop design documentation for internal and external use.
- Adhere to defined software development processes.
- Develop software test plans and procedures to demonstrate compliance with system requirements.
- Participate in planning, designing, testing, and deploying engineered systems and software.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in C++ and embedded software.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience in software development for embedded systems.
- Experience in aerospace and defense industries.
- Familiarity with Linux, Simulink, and control systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- Preference for candidates from smaller companies versus large primes.
Work Environment
You will work in an office setting as part of a small team of four software engineers. The team is small and accessible, with everyone available to assist and ensure you have the resources you need. The role supports defense work, providing ample opportunities for additional workload and responsibilities as the team grows.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
