Infrastructure Technical Program Manager, Terafab

Designing and building world-class Gigafactories, at record speed, is key to Tesla scaling worldwide. In this role, you will own Terafab infrastructure - a semiconductor-scale program delivering major infrastructure upgrades across datacenters, power generation, logistics, central utility plants, and chemical and gas systems. You will lead site master planning and major scope sequencing, and drive infrastructure from concept through design, construction, commissioning, and production readiness. This role starts at Gigafactory Texas (Austin) for the first six months, then relocates to the permanent Terafab site in Grimes County, Texas. The ideal candidate has demonstrated capability in semiconductor site development for large-scale manufacturing, plus technical competence in the systems above, technical program management, factory engineering, construction, and contract management.

- Own the Terafab plan of record, scope definition, approval, strategy, and execution for onsite and offsite infrastructure programs by integrating, negotiating, and aligning with factory engineering, construction, procurement, finance, facilities operations, EHS, and program customers. Lead site master planning for Terafab and Research Fab - land use, utility corridors, logistics flows, power, datacenter, central utilities, and chemical/gas infrastructure - sequenced against production ramp and future nodes
- Start at Gigafactory Texas to stand up program, team, and plan of record, then relocate to Grimes County, Texas as the permanent Terafab site and lead large-scale semiconductor site development through design, construction, and production readiness
- Own major scope sequencing across datacenters, power generation, logistics, central utility plants, and chemical/gas systems. Define options, tradeoffs, cost, schedule, and production impact, and secure alignment between working teams and leadership
- Convert customer and process requirements into executable infrastructure scope. Initiate feasibility, capacity, and value-engineering studies, and ensure deliverables for procurement, costing, permitting, and construction meet program requirements
- Own program communications to major stakeholders: schedule, budget, cost, forecast, risk, operational readiness, and launch readiness. Drive program funding to meet timelines with quantified options assessment
- Serve as the single infrastructure program point of contact through the lifecycle. Coordinate Engineering Program Managers, design partners, EPC contractors, specialty vendors, and authorities having jurisdiction. Influence leadership to prioritize work and actively convert requirements into executable scope
- Proactively identify and drive continuous improvement of Tesla processes to improve Terafab program performance

- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Demonstrated capability in semiconductor site development for large-scale manufacturing
- 10+ years delivering industrial, semiconductor, datacenter, or mission-critical infrastructure from concept through commissioning. Demonstrated technical competence in two or more of: datacenter deployment, power generation and electrical distribution, logistics and site infrastructure, central utility plants, and chemical/gas systems
- Experience leading site master planning and multi-package scope sequencing on large capital programs. Experience building mission-critical facilities from scoping through proposal, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Advanced project and program management skills applied to complex engineering problems, including subcontractor and consulting engineer management
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to understand complex problems and distill them into a clear plan for working teams and leadership
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and load calculations, with familiarity in codes, permitting, and industrial or semiconductor facility standards
- Willing to start at Gigafactory Texas (Austin) for six months and relocate to the permanent site in Grimes County, Texas
