As part of Empower’s acquisition of Milliman’s retirement administration business, this role supports defined benefit plan administration services transitioning to Empower. The acquired business brings specialized expertise across defined benefit, defined contribution, and health and welfare benefits administration.
The Benefits Administrator supports the administration of defined benefit pension plans in accordance with plan provisions and established procedures. This role maintains participant and pension data, supports payment and payroll administration, processes participant requests, and assists with benefit calculations.
What You Will Do
- Review plan and participant documents and compile indexes to support efficient information retrieval.
- Perform assigned data-processing activities related to defined benefit plan administration.
- Process participant records, payroll information, data queries, and plan-related documents accurately and efficiently.
- Use benefits administration applications to process participant requests within established service-level standards
- Coordinate fulfillment of participant letters and supporting documentation.
- Support pension payment administration and benefit calculation activities in accordance with plan provisions.
- Coordinate with defined benefit associates on day-to-day administration activities.
- Accurately record billable time to support correct client billing.
- Deliver accurate and timely service to clients
- Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes.
- Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support special projects and additional administrative assignments as needed.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive client and participant information.
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience with defined benefit plan or pension administration.
- Relevant certification in U.S. employee benefits.
- Experience supporting pension data, participant records, payroll processing, benefit calculations, or pension payments.
