We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Fulfilment Pharmacist to join a busy pharmacy operations team. In this role, you verify, dispense, and fulfil prescription medications with a strong emphasis on accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. You collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals to support timely medication delivery and exceptional patient care in a high-volume environment. Candidates with retail pharmacy experience are strongly preferred, as this background supports effective prescription verification, medication counseling, workflow management, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Evaluate prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, including drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and dosing concerns.
- Ensure full compliance with state pharmacy board regulations, DEA requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians throughout the fulfilment process.
- Perform final verification of prescriptions prior to shipment or patient delivery to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Collaborate with prescribers to clarify medication orders and resolve prescription discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with medication management, including stocking, labeling, and sorting compounded medications.
- Support quality assurance activities and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and patient safety.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of medication-related issues and dispensing errors.
- Ensure proper handling, documentation, and security of controlled substances.
- Maintain productivity and accuracy standards in a high-volume fulfilment environment.
- Foster a culture of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within the pharmacy.
Essential Skills
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations and board of pharmacy requirements.
- Demonstrated commitment to medication safety and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume pharmacy environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technicians, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical calculations and medication therapy management principles.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and consistently meet productivity goals.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to understand and use Microsoft Office software, QS-1, and Compounder.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and telephones.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred: 1+ years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Experience in mail-order, specialty, long-term care, central fill, or fulfilment pharmacy settings.
- Retail experience with stocking, labeling, and sorting compounded medications.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and automated dispensing technologies.
- Experience with prescription adjudication and insurance processing.
- Prior leadership experience or pharmacist-in-charge responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to support quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts.
- Comfort working in an apothecary-style retail pharmacy setting.
Work Environment
This role is based in a retail apothecary-style pharmacy environment focused on prescription fulfilment and patient service. You work with pharmacy software systems, including QS-1 and Compounder, as well as Microsoft Office applications, and use standard office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and telephones. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a rotating Saturday shift from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. When scheduled on a Saturday, you work that Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., maintaining a consistent total of 40 hours per week. Saturday shifts begin only after conversion to a permanent schedule. The environment emphasizes accuracy, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations in a high-volume setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boothwyn, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $59.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
