AWS is hiring a Community Engagement Manager to lead community first initiatives to drive positive impact and brand reputation. This position will be based out of Atlanta and will support the business across Georgia. This is a strategic role that requires the right candidate to Dive Deep to understand and support the AWS business.

As a Community Engagement Manager, you will:

Serve as the subject matter expert on external issues management and community relations around Data Center Infrastructure. You will identify and collaborate with partner organizations and key stakeholders to understand community needs, build relationships, and drive impactful outcomes. You will own the region's community issues management and lead the identification and deployment of programs designed to deliver sustaining and lasting impact in the communities where we live and work. The AWS InCommunities team launches long-term, innovative programs that drive lasting impact in regions around the world. We are obsessed with being good neighbors — we start with the community and work backwards to represent infrastructure communities inside AWS.

Key job responsibilities
-Build and maintain trusted relationships with community stakeholders, including residents, civic leaders, elected officials, nonprofit partners, and local organizations.
-Lead strategy development and execution of community engagement plans for major development projects across the region.
-Manage community investments and partnerships, ensuring alignment with Amazon's community pillars and measurable local impact.
-Design and execute signature events and programs, and set the vision for sustainable community engagement initiatives with a high bar for quality.
-Own internal and external communications for community engagement programs and represent Amazon publicly across multiple channels.
-Serve as the point of contact for community centric issues, proactively identifying and addressing concerns that pose reputational risk to Amazon.
-Lead community assessments for new sites, identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and scale programming as the business grows.
-Capture and report data demonstrating the quantified and qualified impact of community engagement, and communicate results internally and externally.
-Partner with cross functional teams including engineering, operations, real estate, energy, water, sustainability, construction, legal, public policy, and public relations.
-Be physically present in the community and get work done on the ground when required.

A day in the life
No two days look alike in this role. You might start by reviewing developments across your data center sites, then meet with nonprofit leaders to shape a new investment before aligning with internal partners on messaging for a community milestone. You partner cross functionally with engineering, operations, real estate, energy, water, sustainability, construction, legal, public policy, and communications teams. Your customers are the communities where Amazon operates, including residents, civic leaders, elected officials, and nonprofit partners. The core problem you solve is ensuring Amazon is a trusted neighbor by proactively identifying community risks and delivering programs with measurable impact.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development)
- Experience building and growing relationships with internal and external partners

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
