Esplanade Madeira Ranch , located in Elk Grove, CA , is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Pickleball Instructor ! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of pickleball operations. As an associate of Troon , you will contribute to a global leader in pickleball, golf and community management.
Compensation:
$25.00 - $37.50 per hour
General Purpose:
Teaches various pickleball and tennis programming to our private community, including running clinics, tournaments, and other various programs.
Essential Duties:
- Assists in supervising play and ensures proper charging of fees, and rental of equipment.
- Assists in the promotion of and conducting clinics, special events and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members interests.
- Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
- Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.
- Properly represents the club in state or national events as time permits.
- Works cooperatively with other departments to develop combined programs for the membership.
- Ensures proper usage and rental of the ball machine.
- Performs racquet stringing.
- Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Reports any maintenance problems to the Department Manager or Maintenance Manager.
- Monitors court usage including special events, clinics and lessons.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
Associates degree (AA); and three to five years related experience as a head professional/instruction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally sits. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
CPR, First Aid Certification, Teaching Certification
Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Possess U.S.T.A. rating of 5.0 or better.
