Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer Job Description
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work independently to create comprehensive hardware design packages for custom industrial web converting machinery. You will collaborate with the Mechanical Engineering and Project Management teams to ensure quality, functionality, and compliance with customer expectations. Additionally, you will be responsible for documentation, including reports archived with projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop complete hardware design packages for custom industrial machinery.
- Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering and Project Management teams.
- Ensure quality, functionality, and compliance with customer expectations.
- Prepare and archive project documentation.
Essential Skills
- Electrical design and panel design experience.
- Familiarity with industrial control panel design.
- Knowledge of standard wiring principles for Power Distribution, AC/Servo drives, and PLC I/O diagrams.
- 5+ years of experience in creating custom electrical, pneumatic schematics, and panel layouts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
- Familiarity with UL508, UL698A, NEC, and SCCR panel ratings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Pneumatic design experience is a significant advantage.
- Ability to generate complete bills of materials.
- Capability to incorporate details from work orders, engineering design reviews, and customer meetings into custom-designed panels.
Work Environment
The role offers a flexible work schedule, with a hybrid model allowing for 25% remote work. The company is transitioning from a small family business to a larger engineering firm, providing numerous opportunities to integrate new technology. You will work directly with other Electrical Design Engineers and collaborate with professionals ranging from Process Engineers to Senior Controls Engineers, specializing in programming, process, HMI, and SCADA generation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Paterson, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
