Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Leader
Rx relief has partnered with a top-tier regional health system in California’s Central Valley to identify an exceptional pharmacy leader. This role directly supports the Director of Pharmacy in orchestrating clinical, technical, and operational excellence across a comprehensive health system.
In this position, you will help guide an interprofessional team delivering evidence-informed care across diverse acute care environments—including NICU, PICU, Pediatric Rehab, Oncology, Palliative, Emergency, and complex ambulatory specialty practices.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Strategy & Department Leadership
Collaborate with executive leadership to implement departmental vision, evaluate productivity metrics, and manage daily hospital pharmacy functions.
Direct and mentor clinical staff, ambulatory specialists, and pharmacy informatics team members.
Serve as an organizational liaison on interdisciplinary committees, quality task forces, and clinical initiatives.
Clinical Operations & Protocol Governance
Supervise advanced clinical protocols including anticoagulation management, antibiotic stewardship, renal dosing, IV-to-oral transitions, and TPN formulation.
Oversee specialized pharmacy care for ambulatory clinics across Cardiology, Endocrinology, Pulmonology/CF, Neurology, Rheumatology, and Hematology/Oncology.
Expand and support collaborative practice agreements to elevate medication therapy management.
Technology, Data & Regulatory Compliance
Lead pharmacy systems integration, including EHR projects, pharmacy automation platforms, bedside barcode administration, and Charge Master updates.
Utilize departmental data and operational analytics to drive process improvement and workflow efficiencies.
Ensure strict adherence to California State Board of Pharmacy regulations, federal legislation, and institutional Quality Assurance standards.
Required Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited program required. Master’s degree (MBA, MPH, or equivalent) and an ASHP-accredited residency are strongly preferred.
Licensure: Active Registered Pharmacist license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Certifications: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical or operational pharmacy experience required. 5+ years of progressive leadership and operational mastery preferred.

Hourly Pay Range: $83.03 – $120.39 / hour
