About the Role at Alloy Therapeutics
Our Alloy Discovery Services (ADS) group is looking for a Protein Science Co-op to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. The position will work in our Protein Sciences functional group and is a full-time co-op (32+ hours per week). In this capacity, you will support the ADS scientific team and their mission to accelerate the discovery of antibody-based therapeutics. Your principal responsibilities will include supporting the production of in house and partner antibody-based therapeutics and other recombinant proteins. You will be using the latest expression and purification technologies with the ultimate goal of helping others to make better medicines faster.

Key Responsibilities
- Learn about the Protein Sciences and Antibody Discovery workflow at Alloy and gain experience in the lab working with the team
- Gain hands-on experience with relevant lab techniques including but not limited to mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein design and engineering, mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein expression and purification, and analytical techniques for characterization
- Learn how to operate and maintain instruments such as HPLC, FPLC, and multiple automation instruments (TECAN, Opentrons, etc.)
- Assist with protein production, purification, and characterization activities
- Maintain excellent written records
- Be generous when others are needy, greedy or fearful

Required Qualifications
- Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic team setting
- Interest in protein engineering and production in the context of drug discovery
- Previous co-op, internships or lab experience is preferred
- An independent sense of urgency, persistence, and integrity

Pay Transparency
