We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to drive quality engineering and

automation across Securonix products, including SIEM, ThreatQ (Threat Intelligence Platform/TIP) , and associated

cloud, microservices, data, and security capabilities.

Role Overview:

As a Senior SDET, you will design and build scalable automation solutions across API, UI, backend, integration, and

end-to-end workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in Python , hands-on experience with

Pytest and Playwright , and a solid understanding of API and microservices testing. You will work closely with

Engineering, Product, DevOps, and QA teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

● Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python and Pytest .

● Build and maintain modern UI and end-to-end automation using Playwright .

● Develop automated test suites for API, UI, backend, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

● Drive an API-first automation strategy for microservices and platform capabilities.

● Validate REST APIs, service-to-service integrations, authentication, data contracts, error handling, and distributed

workflows.

● Validate data processing pipelines and data integrity using Python, SQL, and API-based validation.

● Test complex workflows across Securonix products, including SIEM and ThreatQ/TIP .

● Develop reusable automation libraries, utilities, fixtures, test-data management, and reporting capabilities.

● Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and enable continuous testing.

● Analyze automation failures, application logs, API responses, and backend data to perform root-cause analysis.

● Participate in design and architecture discussions to improve testability, observability, reliability, and product

quality.

● Identify regression risks and ensure appropriate automated coverage for new features and production defect fixes.

● Mentor QA/SDET engineers on automation design, coding standards, debugging, and testing best practices.

● Explore AI-assisted testing and automation to improve test coverage, productivity, and defect detection.

Required Technical Skills:

● 5-8 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET roles.

● Strong programming experience in Python .

● Strong hands-on experience with Pytest , including fixtures, parametrization, reusable libraries, and framework

design.

● Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for UI/end-to-end automation.

● Strong experience in REST API automation and testing.

●  Experience designing or contributing to scalable automation frameworks, not only individual test scripts.

● Strong understanding of microservices and distributed architectures.

● Experience with SQL and backend/data validation.

● Experience testing complex integration and end-to-end workflows.

● Experience integrating automation with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

● Good understanding of Git, Linux/Unix, debugging, logging, and defect management tools such as JIRA.

● Strong understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, regression strategies, and Agile

development practices.

Good to Have:

● Cybersecurity domain knowledge , particularly SIEM, Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIP), SOC workflows, threat

detection, incident investigation, or security analytics.

● Experience or familiarity with Securonix SIEM and/or ThreatQ concepts.

● Understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as IOCs, threat intelligence, alerts, incidents, detections,

investigations, and response workflows.

● Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

● Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

● Exposure to data technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, or similar distributed data-processing platforms.

● Experience with performance/load testing using JMeter, Locust, k6, or similar tools.

● Exposure to AI/ML or LLM-based application testing, including validation of AI-generated outputs, edge cases, and

workflow-based/agentic systems.

● Understanding of security testing and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
