The project:    This role will be working for a local authority client in North west of England and will be dedicated to the Highways maintenance who are responsible for the delivery of reactive, preventative and planned maintenance activities working closely with the asset management team, They undertake maintenance interventions identified through asset management processes, helping to preserve the condition of the highway network and prevent deterioration before more extensive and costly repairs are required.

The highways planned maintenance team is responsible for developing and delivering programmes of preventative and structural maintenance across the highway network. This includes carriageway resurfacing, surface treatments, footway improvements, drainage works, and other asset maintenance activities designed to extend the life of highway infrastructure. The team uses condition data, inspections, and asset management principles to identify priorities, programme works, manage budgets, and oversee scheme delivery. By investing in planned maintenance, the team helps maintain safe and reliable roads and footways, reduces the need for more costly reactive repairs, and supports the long-term sustainability of the highway network.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Applying health and safety expertise across project delivery.
- Supporting construction delivery and senior project leadership.
- Building trusted client and stakeholder relationships.
- Delivering assigned structures and fit-out packages safely.

You’ll need to have:

- 5+ years’ commercial experience within highways, infrastructure or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, tendering and procurement.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Progressing towards MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE or equivalent membership.
