About this role

JOB PURPOSE:

The Global Markets Business Finance team comprises Business Unit Control, Valuation Control, Central MI and Change Management teams. The team supports the Global Markets and Group Treasury businesses locally and internationally. The unit falls under the Group Finance department and reports to the CFO, CIB Finance & International.

The Change Management Team is responsible for pioneering digital transformation initiatives targeted at implementing controls and increasing operational efficiencies . The team leads major initiatives relating to international roll-out projects, new products roll-out, as well as transformation projects, processes re-engineering and systems’ change requests. VP-Head of Change Management is expected to drive strategic initiatives with an innovative mindset focused on maximizing growth and eliminating inefficiencies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Team Supervision

- Leads a techno-functional advisory team which acts as liaison between various business groups (Global Markets, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, IT and PMO) across FAB’s Head Office and international locations – advising on Global Markets / Finance best practices, audit point resolutions, identifies and executes optimization opportunities, international rollouts, automation opportunities, and processes / products / controls rollouts

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

- Devise solutions drives initiatives for implementing controls as part of tactical and strategic solutions for current risky/time consuming processes, with an objective to enhance governance, accuracy and efficiency of the output for financial & management reporting

Continuous Improvement

- Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Reporting

Re-engineer current processes to facilitate management and financial reporting and analysis.

Job Context

Business Activity Support

- Transforms finance streams from cost centers to business drivers by collaborating with Global Markets team on revenue generating initiatives and supporting GM’s business growth, ambitions, and goals

- Drives strategic initiatives with an innovative mindset focused on maximizing growth and eliminating inefficiencies

- Pioneers digital transformation initiatives targeted at implementing controls and increasing operational efficiencies by re-engineering, automating and optimizing processes, whilst adopting an agile delivery mindset

- Collaborate with stakeholders in Product Control, Global Markets / Group Treasury, Operations, Risk and Finance to support new business activity deployment, enhance existing functionalities in Murex and downstream systems

- Review business needs and translate them into application functional requirements for complex financial products and processes

- Ensures compliance with and documentation of Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), Operational Risk Assessments for Projects (ORAP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Centralization of Business Change Requests

- Centralize all system change requests for Product Control and Financial Control Departments: log business issues (gaps and risks), review business requirement documents (BRDs), follow up on systems’ IT implementations, perform UAT before deployment, ensure a global rollout of changes, and notify all stakeholders of the required end user procedures

- Support of new business requests , ensuring they are controlled through the existing or new system architecture, providing responsive support to front office, ensuring “speed to market” of new products. Delegated authority for New Activity Working Group (NAWG), for new product sign-off.

Contribution to Transformation Projects

- Simultaneously leads multiple projects focused on the automation/optimization of manual processes by leveraging on various systems

- Delivers complex automation projects within tight deadlines

Contribution to International Roll-outs

- Manage the change management team by overlooking the validation processes, reconciliations, gaps and issues identified

- Represents business and leads the integration and migration activities, from a GM Finance perspective, relating to sensitive and complex mergers / acquisitions

- Escalate any issues to the management and assist in mitigating any operational risk

- Addresses business critical audit and compliance issues by developing and implementing tactical and strategic solutions

Contribution to New Products and Processes Scoping and Rollout Activities

- Grows the business profitability by liaising with various stakeholders (Front Office, Operations, Legal, Risk, Compliance, IT teams) to roll out new financial products, modules and systems, and processes and controls

- Validates and signs off financial products’ behavior, lifecycle and accounting activity
- Introduces new processes to ensure that compliance controls are well established across platforms hence decreasing the risk of operational incidents and frauds

Product Owner

- Maximizes the delivered value by defining the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) and ensuring early value delivery

- Creates and maintains the Functional and Operational processes associated with the platform

- Manages and coordinates all stakeholders contributing towards the product functionally or operationally

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Accounting / Finance

Minimum Experience

- Extensive track record of successfully delivering techno-functional bank-wide projects, with proven leadership and managerial experience within a top tier institution
- Strong business acumen and technical expertise (systems, infrastructure, etc.)
- Strong stakeholder management (across GM Finance and IT)
- Strong verbal and written presentation and senior stakeholder management skills;
- Highly developed numerical, analytical, presentation & interpersonal skills with expertise to represent the team on strategic initiatives
- Product management
- Strong verbal and written presentation and senior stakeholder management skills
- Minimum 10-12 years’ experience in a similar role in a reputable international/global bank
